2 Month Check-up

Today Anthony went in for his 2 month check-up and his first set of immunizations. He is measuring at 22.5inches (50th percentile), his head was 39cm and he weighed 11lbs 7oz (both 35th percentile). The pediatrician said it was nothing to worry about because he wasn't quite 2 months yet...so apparently, 8 weeks does not equal 2 months. Everything looked good for him though. Then, Anthony got the dreaded shots. He got 4 shots and 1 by mouth. 3 of the shots were given by air gun, which wasn't quite as bad...but he got them after he got the tetanus by needle in his thigh. He was just laying on the table, preoccupied and happy and then he got surprised by this giant needles and the look of surprise and shock on his face broke my heart! Then the wailing began. He only cried during the shots and was ok after it. He's been pretty tired and kinda cranky all day--which is understandable! But, now I feel extra secure in knowing that he will be protected from things when we take out trip in 2 weeks!

Leaving the hospital. You can't see the 4 band-aids on his leg. So sad!
